The Ever evolving Nature of Workplace Trends
Are your Organisational Structures & Workplace Practices ALIGNING with Current Realities?
Many a times, unexpected events happen that lead to a shift in how activities are carried out on a normal basis. An example is the Covid19 pandemic which has impacted the way work is currently being structured in various organisations.
Disruptions here and there leading to uncertainties on how the leanings in the macro and micro environment would tilt in the coming days, months or even years.
In present day 2022, some common talent management trends have emerged in the forms of employee flight risk and talent mobility, the great resignation, employee wellness / wellbeing, remote and hybrid working, virtual team building, diversity & inclusion.
Just when it seems it couldn’t get any crazier, BOOM! the macro environment is impacting some organisations to tilt the trend towards mass staff layoffs. Mass layoffs have become a prevalent trend in countries with weaker economies. An effect of the war between Russia and Ukraine leading to a rise in inflation and the incapacity to afford to pay staff salaries. However, I daresay, improper planning on the part of the affected countries has led to this trend.
Of course, research findings have shown over the years that the use of technology would be a talent management trend in the human resources of ‘NOW’. Consequently, Digital ability has become an essential skill required by organisations from talents to scale through in the hiring process.
The digital trend is also rapidly evolving from not only talents owning the skill but having the ability to quickly adapt to the ever-changing nuances of the technology space.
All these evolving talent management trends certainly have an impact on our personal lives, family life and our environment of habitation
So, here I am again, just musing and wondering what next in the world of work. One thing is however certain,
The disruptions is not ending anytime soon and the sooner we brace ourselves and organisations align, navigate the turbulences to remain a going concern, the better for the society at large.
What in your view, would be the new talent management trend in the next coming days, months, or years?
Oh, errm π€ , whatever happened to Robotics as part of the workforce of 'NOW'? Are robots’ now part of the team in your workplace?
