QUIRKY - The new buzzword for hiring high potential talents

I have recently been doing some research into how to spot high potential employees based on their mannerisms and personality traits, and, BOOM, the word, 'quirky' came to mind. Of course, though, the positive sides of the quirky personality. My research led me into digging further into the personality traits of Quirks. 😼☺

According to the dictionary meaning, ‘Quirky’ is defined as a strange or unique action or personality or idiosyncrasies and strange, silly, awkward, and potentially cute manner of being.

The word, 'UNIQUE ACTION' stands out for me in this definition. 🙋

 

A Quirk would stand out in a crowd even without the intention to do so. It may be based on their mode of dressing, the way they wear their hair, their thought processes when they speak, odd glasses, their mannerisms and some other traits people may consider as odd. In short, they are a unique set of people who are sometimes described as non-conformists.

 

Quirky Personality traits I discovered from my research:

 

✅Highly creative. They think out of the box. They see things differently and want to make an impact in their community

✅Internally motivated

✅Independent thinkers. They are Analytical and would question the norm and do not depend on logic only

✅They have other hobbies they are passionate about. They do not seek validation from others

✅Neurotic and sometimes Introverted. They need their ‘me’ time to re-energise

✅Curious and adventurous, they take risks

 

There are several positive personality traits of Quirks which I discovered that would be beneficial to an organisation especially the ones who have a culture of innovation and employeepreneurship as part of their work structure and most of which are tilted towards the uniqueness of thoughts and mannerisms of people with these traits.

 

All I could allude to at the end of my research, was that little wonder why it seems geniuses and entrepreneurs have quirky personalities? To be unique, one must have the qualities of a Quirk, the positive ones of course.

 

Look at that successful person doing so well in their career and try to spot their personality trait, you would discover that their uniqueness, thought processes and mannerism is their qualifying factor .
