Organisational Change is a constant Evolving Process

Image
The inevitability of Organisational CHANGE....   I needed to share this story because it buttresses the fact that only people with foresight, a strategy of planning, those who are aware of trends and how it would affect their lives and businesses and analyse how the results of their findings would benefit them progressively would dominate in their areas of industry.   About nine years ago, I led the HR function of an organisation operating in the digital space and one of the HR initiatives I was particularly passionate about was a flexible working structure currently termed Hybrid Working . At that time, the use of technology was in full bloom and a lot of big brands were tilted towards using the social media to capture certain target market for their products and services.   It was obvious at that people could work from anywhere in as much as they deliver on their job. All they needed were the appropriate resources and work tools to get the work done. The snag ...

AGEISM - An unfair employment practice by hiring managers

Image
Hire people for their competence. Stop the age discrimination  ....  Ageism is a form of discrimination against a person because of their age. It involves stereotyping people using the peculiarities you feel are inherent in the age bracket they fall under to judge them and therefore not giving them access to or considering them for equal open job opportunities.. Let's stop stereotyping people for employment based on their age.   In recent times, I have heard conversations from friends and colleagues of how it is becoming tougher each day getting a job . It therefore behooves on each one of us to be deliberate about maintaining our sanity and stress levels. These few tips can make a difference: Keep a grateful spirit always. There's always light at the end of the tunnel and your situation could have been worse. Meditate. Take out time to be on your own. Evaluate yourself Make a conscious effort to be present in your surroundings. Don't lose yourself to unnecessary distractions Have a closing time for work Ensure to have a...

Embracing a Culture of Internal Multigenerational Workforce for Increased Productivity - A SMART Employee Engagement Strategy

Image
With the rise in the job hopping trend of the millennial generation who are predominantly restless, the loyalty  and leadership potentials of gen Xers and the baby boomers should be explored / developed to full capacity  by employers especially when a high staff turnover rate means higher employment costs for the company. Organisations that have a multi generational workforce and the right employee engagement strategies in place are reaping the benefits in immense proportions. Discriminating against one generation over the other can be termed as stereotyping. Let it be known that each generation has something to gain from the other   Folu' Rotimi Lead People, Operations, Strategy & Culture ROFOD Resources
