CURIOUSITY; An Enabler for Ingenuity

All GENIUSES who have / had ever existed had a CURIOUS mindset. Their quest for ingenuity propels them to ask questions

One of the essential skills for career success is CURIOUSITY

Being curious involves asking questions more often than the average the person would. Curiosity is a mental state or mindfulness and can be developed. Curiosity gives birth to INNOVATION & CREATIVITY.

Sometimes it is misconstrued by people as being intrusive, nosey or a plain busy body. However, this is a wrong assumption; rather, it is a powerful mindset tool to bring out ingenious ideas for problem solving.

Asking questions broadens one’s mind into putting all the responses and conjectures together, analysing them, with the aim of arriving at a logical conclusion or solution. One which is based on objectivity from the collected data.

It all comes together, right? So, wouldn’t you rather be a curious person?

Albert Einstein was curious and he became a GENIUS

Geniuses are brought to the fore based on their desire to get answers to what, why, where. when and how questions. The feedback from these questions is then analysed. The outcome of which propels their creative mind to idea formulations starting with, ‘IF’ hypothesis or experiments with a goal to provide solutions to problems.

Tips to building a CURIOUS MINDSET on the journey to self-development & a successful career

  1. Ask the OBJECTIVE questions based on the matter in perspective. Don’t be JUDGEMENTAL
  2. Be open to LEARNING, other people’s IDEAS & EXPERIENCES. You are not all-knowing.
  3. LISTEN with rapt attention. This indicates that you are interested in helping to solve a problem
  4. READ wide on various subject matters to broaden your views on a global scale
  5. Show EMPATHY when trying to get information from people. It shows you understand their perspective
  6. FOCUS on gathering resources to solve one issue at a time to avoid getting distracted
